I shoulda kept my dam cakehole shut. In true belt fashion it opened up around 6pm and dumped about 10" in less than 3 hours. Jinxed ! 15 Few pieces of oak burning down coal before the nite load.
It's 12 with the temp trending down, the pellet stove is running in one corner and tonight I loaded the wood stove up with Sugar Maple and some Ironwood. The basement is 80 with the temps trending up, we'll be warm but it will be some chitty outside temps for two days. Tomorrow we plan on burning more Ironwood since the realfeel will be -32 during the day and at night, eating weather.
3 Ph!&#€!!$/ ehh;! dehhh!!! Woke up at 4 am with frozen tice-ticles !! Fell asleep without reloading last nite. Pro pain kicked in at 60. Dang cold only wearin yur birthday suit. Refired with oak and maple. Warming up now.
Teens outside with the wind just starting to build. Wind chills supposed to be around -20 later on. Got the pellet stove runnin and a load of red oak in the basement dweller, cruisin around 500°.
-3 here wind chills got to be down there with this breeze we got but it's 68 inside and just piled in some ash and maple to percolate some coffee
Just took a stroll out back to watch the sunrise. Yep, its cold! Came back in and kicked the hastings up a notch
Even with the temps this low the T6 has no issues. This is the pileof Hickory still left after 11 hours and the house is still 72 degrees. It will take a good 1-2 hours to burn this down and the stove top is still 500 Degrees. I won't complain.
Forecast for -9 or -10 last night, so I turned on the DV about 10pm, while burning down some coals in the 30. Got up this a.m. at 6:45 to -19, but the house was still 66, so not too bad. Loaded the 30 with 5 Oak splits, and got it choochin' about 700 for a bit. We're back up to 70 now. No idea what the wind chill was/is, but it's chilly outside. Heading to 7 today with another -9 forecast tonight, then warming up starting tomorrow. I should have gotten the house warmer before the night load, so tonight I'm pulling coals out instead of burning down, to keep the temps up. We'll see how well that works.
Six farenheit here. Princess rolling good ash and oak upstairs, hastings burning easy heats downstairs. Brrrrr.
10 degrees here with a wind chill around zero. Maple and oak getting the house warm. Fisher stove will be chewing through the wood the next couple of days.
Low teens here and will stay there through the day. Loaded the jotul with all oak around 4 a.m. and will reload Before we leave for food shopping. The winds are picking up, so real feel will be in the single digits. Tonight, winds up to 55 mph and a windchill down to -25. Genny at the ready, and will keep loading the stove with big oak in hopes of getting the house temps hot today to help fight the battle overnight.
