I've been looking to replace my corn Furnace with something a bit more modern so looking on craig's list a Quadra Fire Santa Fe shows up so cheap I had to buy it. Plugged it in when we got home and it works great, needs a good cleaning though.
Don't really have any use for it at the moment but will likely sell it this fall to help finance the corn stove.
Ya know it's hard to get enthused about stoves and furnaces when it's 60 degrees outside.

I bought a Quad Castile last year for $300 (delivered to me) from over 3 hrs away. All it needed was a coat of paint and a door gasket.

Sold it for $1,200 and I kept the Hearth pad it came with :)

Good way to make money! I hope you find the stove /furnace you are looking for ;)

Well, as a few of you may have noticed, I've been absent for the past 5-6 days. Was reading email one night and suddenly the computer starts doing wacky things....screen all screwy. Long story short, the '08 iMac has "died". I can still occasionally get it to fire up, but it only lasts for a few minutes.

Whats worse, I'm not sure I can recover all my files. May be possible with FireWire to Thunderbolt cable, but I'm not too optimistic. Yes, this stupid a** never set up a backup system :headbang::headbang::headbang:, even though newer Mac's have Time Machine (it allows you to have automatic file saving to the cloud, or a external hard drive). Yes, I learned my lesson....there's a 1TB external Seagate hard drive on it's way too.

Well, just got the replacement today and am working on getting it back to where I was before, but it's gonna take a lot of time. So for now, all my pellet related files & pics are history. :(

Might be able to pull the drive and use one of those external cases. I doubt the drive failed. Sounds more like a hardware power issue. Might need to google how to mount the drive(I aint done that in eons), But you should be able to get the data.

    Keep us posted!

This is the first one I ever had that did. Unlike those PC's that need to be replaced every 2-3 years, or sooner. :p:rofl:

Spoke to a Apple repair shop Friday and he thought it was the graphics card. Unfortunately, this machine can only use the original, and from what I was told, those are hard to come by.

Oh, and as far as pulling the drive, I thought of that too, but I'll try the cable and Migration Assistant first....who knows, I might get lucky.

If you have stuff, like pictures and files you want. Just take to it to a computer shop and they should be able to put your files on some memory sticks. But yes, back up, back up always. Mine goes to those cloud things, but I also have a back up external drive. I hate loosing pictures. I've had several computers die on me. Usually they are the Hp's Never a clue when it is going to hit.

Though the pellet heating season was over, Rainy, 40 degrees, and 40 mph winds, miserable day to be outside.
Started the scf 050 up tonight sure feels good in here now.

Yep, I know. The files are still there. I'll try the cable transfer that the service guy suggested. If not, I'll get a quote on getting it retrieved.

Stove was running when I got home yesterday evening. And it was on again this AM. I'd expect it to be on and off until at least Memorial Day weekend.
