Nope, hogwire fencing from Menards . Cut it into 3 pieces & wired together. Need to make more. Have a couple of construction tips that make em stronger. Will take pics when I build the next one.
I'm way behind this year. Too busy traveling with work. And doing some climbing for side money. Have just enough to last through winter. Working on next years stash as I have time. No pics of the cages up by the house. Or the 2.5 by the house in cages. 3.5 along the fence. 2 more of maple already CSS for next year in metal totes; cut this spring. 1-ish at dads CSS, just need to pick it up. And two ash trees, one small cherry all ready down and a huge oak to take down at a buddies. Time is my enemy
I like my x27 so much better.... I am restoring a axe right now that was my great grand fathers. no pics at the moment. most of my work is done at dark, after working 12-14 hour days, especially this time of year. Got a couple bundles of slabwood for the price of gas to pic them up.... the 550 ripped through it in no time. I don't break out my midget splitter much anymore....

here's some updated total pics. plus a cord in the garage ready to go. working at a buddies place throughout the week cutting up a red oak that was hit by lightning and taking down a couple cherries. relaxing today. think there is about 10-11 cord +or- in total throughout the property. just barely enough for this winter. one rik in the house, one cord in the garage ready to go. This is mostly oak and some ash and apple from the spring, maybe a pallet high of maple on the left at the back: about 6-7cord or so. (8 pallets long, 2 pallets deep,5' tall,) about 1.5 cord of maple cut last winter on reserves: lots of maple, a cord of pin oak from 2.5 years ago, a crate of cherry about 1/2 cord, and a crate of red oak (about 1/2 cord) that was hit by lighting that should be ready to burn this winter. Lightning struck trees normal dry out in one season or less. I guess the lightning dries them out, they are much drier than standing dead trees. what I keep up by the house ready to burn. A mixture here of cherry, ash, pin oak, white oak, and some other wood that was in a pile from my uncles that is hard and burns good, but not sure what species it is. Possibly hickory. only about a cord left here. been burning for about a month. and how I move them around... homemade pallet forks on the 3 point. the new kubota won't pick up a full crate of oak, but will cherry, maple and ash. I used the front end loader on my other tractor, but I was going to break it, so I stopped using the front forks and made an adapter for the rear instead.
Stephie, you are definitely no slouch. When are you going to get an out feed table on your splitter? It will sure save your back.
It's kind of funny. My firewood partner keeps my splitter at his place and I keep his here. We do alot more volume there plus he sells 10-15 cords a year and we split 50-50. So we work together here and then I work on my private stash at the house in my spare time (what little there is). Here's a few from his place. Trucks loaded with oak.
