Here in Saline county AR we had totality. I percent sunshine coverage. It was very cool. Birds went to roost and major temp swing. The light cast looked like something from another planet. Glad I watched it. All that said I wouldn't have driven far to see it like so many people. I know that I will see unspeakable things one day. Things that we can't imagine. If your not a believer I hope you find God's peace in your heart.

Texas was visited by a total eclipse on Monday, July 29, 1878 --- a phenomena that was not only forecast by astronomers at that time but was also photographed in Fort Worth. A Harvard astronomer named Leonard Waldo made Cowtown his destination for observing and documenting the eclipse. Waldo's team included R.W. Wilson, a Harvard colleague; J.K. Rees of Washington University in St. Louis; W.H. Pulsifer, also of St. Louis; and F.E. Seagrave of Providence, Rhode Island.

Yeah, I can't imagine being that close and not driving to see totality. Totally different experience from everything I see and read.

We had about 85% or 88% eclipse... Not nearly what August of 2017 was... But the yellowing of the light... The blurring of the lines of the shadow... and the temperature change was all that really was seen here...

I saw total in 2017 and felt the same way about the light.

My wife and I stepped outside and put on our goofy glasses and watched the whole thing. Simply AMAZING. Tree frog peepers when crazy in the swamp out back, the cattle laid down, skeeters came out and got both of us, the birds did their morning song, temp dropped more than I had imagined it would. Amazing warming energy from the Heavens.

We gave thanks! Weather was perfect.

Very happy to have been right in the alley of totality and able to watch from our front yard.

Next winter, we'll head north to see the northern lights. We have that on our bucket list also.

We are DEVO!!! yeh, yeh, yeh, yeh,ya,ya,ya,ya,ya,ya, YEH!!!

I am happy for all that had a great viewing.

Got 98% cloud cover here. Got a glimpse of the sun at crescent, but didn't even need the glasses at all, it was so thick.

Bummer, since this'll be the last in my lifetime.

Too far away for it and we had overcast skies anyway.

Bright spec at top left is Jupiter and spec at bottom right is Venus. Didn’t see the comet or the other planets was to busy looking at the big event.
Would highly recommend if you have the chance to go to take advantage of it. I would not fly across the country to see it but if driving distance would do it again!
What was really cool was you could see the darkness coming, was kinda the color of a massive thunderstorm but was crystal clear.

IMG_3497.jpeg Saw 4 out of 5 planets that were supposed to be visible. Heard an owl. Horses were unphased. Stayed for supper, came home 150 miles on backroads. The road outside my house is still unusually busy , at 11:30pm, but is beginning to die down.

Traffic flowing in 5 hours ahead of time.
We eventually bailed in favor of a better kind of road…

We had a partial eclipse, just barely dimmed. Chickens heard and saw us in yard, they begged the whole time including our sweet goofy rooster crowing at us lol :)

. Sorry, but guessing the cloud cover had a similar effect if that helps at all?
