Sounds like us in the northern half of Iowa are gonna get a pretty good dose of the snow tonight and tomorrow.
I say bring it on. Plenty of farwood for the stove and it will help with my deer hunt this week.

Nope! I do t want it. Snow on weekends means I have to work the weekend. Nothing much yet here, maybe it will hold off til sun down. If that happens I dont have to go in to move it til tomorrow morning.

Butcher-- I just got done doing your job, just finished dressing and hanging a hog. Was worried I wouldn't have time to get it done this weekend with the snow coming, but seem to have got it done in time. Will probably do the actual butchering next weekend.

Word of advise from a guy who was in the meat biz for many years when I was a young man and could stand to be on a kill floor for an eternity.?
Cut the pig up the next day or as soon as it is chilled thru completely. Meat has enzymes that can either make it more tender or make it rot as it hangs. Beef for instance actually benifits from hanging for 5 to 10 days. Pork, lamb, deer, and goat need to be processed and stored as soon as you can. Thats just my take on meat after all the years I spent in that type of work. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks. Will try to process it as soon as the storm is done, then.

Every deer I have ever got was in the freezer within 24 hrs. Can't stand that "gamey" after-taste.

Fu..ing piece of sh... what good is a snow blower that runs every damm season but winter??? I t would run all last year, this spring I cleaned the carb and ran two tanks through it. Ran another tank through this fall to make sure it was ready and today-- no fuel going through just like last year! :hair: Worst birthday present I ever got! I gave away an older one that would at least run when there was snow!

Does it have Spark? There is also a magnet on the flywheel that is basically what controls the timing if that's even a little off it won't start or it will misfire like crazy...

In southeastern Wisconsin we have 5" on the ground and it's still snowing.

We're supposed to get 6-10" in total ending around 6pm.

What type of blower are we talking about and with what engine? A spark and a puff of wanting to start could be timing like Pete said. Check the crank shaft key and fly wheel. If the woodruff key is a little wacked the engine aint in time.
