I visited Washington Crossing State Park on Monday and toured the visitor center. They had a ton of Rev War relics and I snapped a pic of these utensils and pots for you. Unfortunately the cabinets didnt have any lights on and they didnt allow flash photography.
A huge twin trunk white oak was taken off my aunt and uncle's property last year. The wood was allegedly going to be used to rehab some of the buildings/structures in that park. Did you see any signs of beam replacement?
PA or NJ side? PA side had a lot of upgrades being done. The ferry house had a new shake roof put on plus there was other stuff going on. It looked good.
I'm not really sure where they planned to use the wood. Someone caught wind of the 200+ year old white oak being dropped and arrangements were made to pick it up ASAP. It was a great tree, but could have done a lot of damage in the "front yard"
Thabk you BCB! And thanks Eric VW for the heads-up! That stuff is so cool! I've got quite the collection here also.... Been insanely busy with all these spring storms and wind, I'm sorry I haven't been in the site much lately....
