Someone posted a snake thread recently.
Put the ladder on the PU this morning and this guy was hanging on the rope. Went to bungee the ladder and it startled me. I thought it a copperhead, but looked it up tonight and its a baby rat snake.
"Rats" was not the exclamation that came out of my mouth! Was considering giving it to the GF as a pet! IMG_0380.JPG IMG_0382.JPG

If I brought that home for a pet it would just be me and the animals living here.

That little guy was just wanting a ride to work.

There's a black snake that hangs around the garage. I leave him alone and he seems friendly, doesn't really ever get in my way.

My dad and I built an addition onto one side of the shop and the bay door has to be manually unlatched to pull it up. Rather than turn the light on like a normal person, I felt my way through to open the bay door with minimal light from the main shop. My dad had a box for his quarter panels laying by the door with what, in the dark, looked like 5/8 heater hose coiled on top. I brushed against it opening the door...it wasn't heater hose... The snake sprung apart like broke piano wire and slithered away as fast as he could. He was more scared than me. And that left me wondering if I have a central nervous system problem or something because I was left there like "what the hell" before I finally felt alarmed.

As long as it's not a copperhead or rattlesnake it's welcome to hang around me...just at least warn me a little before you show up!

OMG, thats funny! I wouldve dented the ceiling by jumping Moparguy.
I used to hide a rubber snake in the flower beds where my sister would garden. Gotta love little brothers! She would then hide it to scare me. Got to be a game!

Last summer I was picking up a tarp and a snake shot out and went in the sleeve of my T shirt and got trapped because my shirt was tucked in. The snake and I were the only ones not laughing. Everyone else found the humor though.

Rat & Milksnakes are great rodent control in the wood piles.

You guys that kill the snakes likely spend money on rodent control. Really no reason we can’t coexist, and believe me I’m no snake handler. Only time I’ve killed one is an eastern diamond back was hanging on the front porch with the dogs in close proximity otherwise rat snakes and kings especially are given free range here- they do what Mother Nature intended them to do.
