Hey Everybody!, Have been lurking for quite some time, and thought that I would jump in. Many thanks to all of those who share their considerable experience on this site. You guys (gals) are great. My Wife and I have been burning for 3 years now, and followed the usual pattern. Purchased a lot of terrible wood the first year, did much better the second year, this year is going well and I am just about 3 years out CSS. Couple of pics of my wood scrounging partner (Best Friend Biff) and I unloading a random scrounge. Both trucks filled with bone dry mix of several speices. (Friend of the Wife is converting to gas) Same person has Silver Maple (recently) on the ground (maybe 20" DBH), a dead standing Ash (15" DBH), and a leaner Elm (smaller) that I am going back for when our freeze comes back. At any rate, Thanks again all, Seems like I know most of you already.
Welcome to the forum Jockko. Now we will get to know you a bit better and this is a great start with the pictures you've posted. It sounds like you've gone the typical route but now on the 3 year plan you will do much, much better. NE Indiana you aren't a long distance from us so we'll ask already that you keep April 22 on your calendar as we are having a get-together then and several folks come from your home state. We'd love to meet you then too.
Welcome to the site. I have been on here for a little over a year. Having burnt wood for over 20 years, I still find a ton of info on here. Enjoy!
Thanks Backwoods Savage! I caught your thread when you were setting up the date. Would love to make it up that way. I am seeing if I can talk either the Wife, or Biff into running up. Sometimes both of them glaze over a bit when I am talking about wood, guess we all kow how that goes LOL!
Welcome Jockko63 - You're gonna like it here, I guarantee it! Looks like you have a fine jump on your addiction and we're here to help...counsel...enable... Nice to meet ya!
Hard to find a deal where it's, cuts, split and seasoned! Home run for sure! Welcome to the site Jock.....
Welcome to FHC! Glad to have you here. Nice job on getting ahead on wood. I highly recommend the GTG at Dennis & Judy's. Have it in my calendar, & would enjoy meeting you.
