and some topped off white pine just down from here that I might get this weekend. I'll check this Yellow Birch again, I'm thinking part of it was rotten. I'll throw the chains on the back tires of the rhino before I do the trees so I can take a ride back in, these trees are on the property the house is on. We still have 1.83 cord of beech from this load of logs we bought in 2010 so when the next long cold snap comes in we'll switch to our better hardwood so I can move this beech to the empty stacks come spring so we can burn it next year.
Nice pile, that should make for some nice processing. From the looks of the second pic she might bust off there when dropped ? had some cherries this fall that looked a lot like that standing, rotted tops and decent mains down lower.
I haven't had much luck with dead birch. They seem to rot pretty quick. Hopefully your experience will be better.
