Looking for a 50 CC scooter in good shape. Preferably one that's been big bored to 80 CC with a tuned pipe and 2 stroke, but I'll entertain anything close. Trying to buy one locally in southeastern. Wisconsin, but I'll drive for the right one. Also I'll be going to the gtg in Michigan at the end of this month. So if anyone that's going has one for sale, let me know. Has to either have a title, or able get a title without a hassle.
Used ones are priced like they are awesome too. I have found a couple Zuma's for what I want to pay, 1 or 2 with expansion pipes on them too, but still of these have no title. The ones with titles are about 2x as expensive as non Japanese scooters. The Taiwanese and Korean brands are solid and not overpriced.
You must have found newer ones...they have made them since the late 80's so there a bunch of them out there, and often you can find people selling low mileage garage queens that don't look at what the new ones cost before pricing theirs, so they go based on what they paid for it back in the day (usually an old timer) so you can sometimes pick up a nice one under $1k.
That's what I'm looking for. Just not finding them. Unless there's no title and then that's a non starter for me
I've flirted heavily with a scooter in the past. Ended up plating my dirt bike instead. I was shopping the big scooters though. A 50 probably can't drag me up some of the hills around here. I see some Hondas on fakebook in your state. A friend was gifted a black and purple Spree back in the day. We killed it on our motocross track. Tough little things.
Yeah, me and scooters have history. When I was a foreign exchange student in Germany when I was 17, my host brother had a scooter. I was indoctrinated into that scene. That was his method of transportation. Good times. A few years later, my fiance at the time in college was given a similar red Honda spree. 1987 iirc. It had a wire basket rack in the front and in the back. Both baskets could hold a case of beer. I did a few mods to it, it required premium gas and sounded like a proper 2 stroke after I was done with it. Sprees and razz's are 1 seater scoots, so those are out. We're looking to use the scooter for our yearly Road America superbike races at the start of June. Y that's a long race track to visit and walking isn't always fun, especially when you can buy a scooter to zip around on. The state of Wisconsin makes it really really tough to plate a dirt bike. Which sucks
Exactly. There's a lot in Madison, our capital where the university of Wisconsin is, but there's plenty of other cities that have colleges here, even in Milwaukee area which is closer to me than Madison. Really I'm just casting my net a little broader posting on here. I'm pretty good at finding stuff for sale, and buying is my profession. You never know who has one and wants to sell it. With the GTG coming up, it might work out perfectly.
