....you won the lottery? I'm not talking a scratch-off ticket, I'm talking 'take this job and shove it' money, retire right now money. Not that I'm ever likely to have this happen, heck I don't even play, but this sounded like a fun question to ask you hoarders.

For me the answer would be YES. I would still hoard wood. Even more than I do now. I love the process and would spend the big bucks on equipment - tractors and attachments, a skid steer, excavator, dump trailer, maybe a huge woodlot somewhere. Chainsaws, wood processor, splitters, you name it. I'd buy everything on the market, try it out and then decide to either keep it for permanent use or give it away to friends or a charitable organization. I'd have so much fun and I'd have all the time in the world to do it too.

I just don't see myself doing the whole multimillionaire thing very well. Fancy cars or a beach house? Nope. Yacht or fishing boat? No way. Golf membership? Yeah, right. Travel? Well, I've always wanted to go to the west coast and sink a long bar into a big Douglas Fir or Sugar Pine. Maybe I can cut some wood in New Zealand or Australia when it's too hot here in the USA in summertime.

I have won the lottery and currently still do burn wood.

OK, nothing significant....but I took the powerball for $2 one time! Made them hurt with that payout!

Yeah, I would still burn wood. And process it too.

At least I think I would!

I would most likely still burn wood too. I would have some nice new equipment but I love the warmth of wood heat.

Yup fancy equipment and no work so I would need something to keep me occupied when I wasn't fishing.

I'd cut more! I would buy a bunch of land, have a bunch of equipment and play everyday at cutting wood, mowing, planting food plots, etc.
With the exception of some hunting (and maybe driving some classic cars) that's about how I would spend my time as a millionaire!

In fact, I’d move somewhere else where I could burn more or less on a daily basis. Id also want to be able to plant trees that i would eventually turn to firewood. Mostly for the gain of burning selective varities if that is not available to me there. Also I would splurge on good stoves. Get a Woodstock, Vermont Bun Baker and maybe an ESSE. Line of saws for all the felling and a tractor to skid for sure. Kubota sounds good!
Who knows? Even my shop might need a burner. Man now you get creative juices flowing its hard to stop thinking on it since its easy to get to dreaming. Definitely would love to help others get their wood taken care of. Even trading wet wood for dry wood be more than OK! Having that kind of warmth of wood makes me want to share it. Like “look how warm this wood gets me... I want my neighbor just as warm as I am!” If I could help others do this and get ready for their season, that’s more than self gratification. That’s undestanding how burning is a process and takes encouragement.

Yep. I'd hire trucks to deliver log loads of the good stuff. And be able to burn my lodgepole pine in the fire pit. :D

Yep. Would probably settle out west in Montana or Idaho. Maybe not - we've planned on retiring to northern NH, so that could work too. Might have to pay to get apple, oak, and hickory airlifted in, but I'd process it myself still. ;)
