Brand new OEM Husqvarna 50 cylinder with a lot more pitting than I'd like to see. Obviously I'd like to see none. There is pitting on the cylinder wall and on the squish band. I've heard people say pitting like this isn't a big deal... I don't think I'd have a problem swapping it for another one. What do y'all think? 20141201_175750.jpg

Never seen pitting like that before?

I am interested as to what others say.

Wow. I don't think that would stop it from running but it would most likely make a difference in overall power output and is quite unacceptable for a new OEM part. If it was purchased new from a dealer, I'd be looking to swap it out under warranty.

The 50 is a single ring engine right?

My thought as well, can't imagine why a new part would look like that

I've seen 044 cylinders like that. They held up several years when I was into them just fine.

Single ring. Most of the pitting is above the exhaust port. It's about the same on the opposite side too. I got it from a good online seller(top notch fellow) he has seen the photo and is working on replacing it.

If you bought a new cylinder like that would you go with it or swap it for another?

If they don't mind swapping then ask them. I don't think you'll have a problem with it.
