Hello guys, it's been a long time since I logged in here. Been a little under the weather for about a year. I have a question about some stove pipe. I want to replace my single wall stove pipe to my Fireview. My question is, does anyone know the difference between the "Slip Pipe" and the "adjustable pipe" on Woodstock Soapstone's website? I need about 64" of pipe and I like the idea of not cutting the pipe to size, much cleaner with the slip pipes.

The slip pipe has a collar to put around the seam, where as the adjustable pipe does not have that collar? Also, can this pipe go over the crimped end of a pipe? I will put a link of the 2 different pipes below. And before you tell me to ask customer service at Woodstock soapstone, I sent them a message yesterday and still haven't heard anything so that's why I'm asking you guys. Thank you very much in advance for any help or insight you can provide.

Telescopic pipe is 2 pipes that slide inside one another, usually get 18" - 30" or 38" to 70". A slip pipe is a single section and you slide it into an existing pipe.

I just installed my Fireview using two of the ones in your first link. I had to cut both to length because I needed one 9” and one 15” and they don’t make either and you can’t cut down their straight sections.
Your first link will only give you about the length listed in total. The collar fits into the pipe below and the longer section slides in and out of that for adjustments provided you have the space below and not an elbow like I do at both ends.
The second link will give you a pipe that will telescope within the listed range. I think it still uses the collar but I’m not 100%. The collar makes it easier to get a good fit. Again, you may need to cut the inner pipe if you’re going into an elbow. Be careful not to flatten the pipes as you cut. A cutoff wheel works well.
    I hope that helps!

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate that! I was hoping to not have to cut the pipe, that's why I was looking into this slip pipe option. I have still not received a response of an explanation from Woodstock, so I will buy what I need elsewhere. Thanks again for your help.

You’re very welcome! Please let us know how you make out.
Just FYI, I had an issue recently trying to communicate with Woodstock via email recently and although they sent a response I didn’t get it, so you’re not alone there.
