Any news as to what the goal is to have that available to the public? Any rumor as to what the price will be? Their blog mentioned they hoped to have EPA ratings back by the end of this week.

Might be on the market sometime this winter. Goal is under $2000.

Hopefully BrianK sees this. He will be receiving one of the 1st as a Beta tester of sorts.

He has a thread started on it somewhere. A beautiful stove with soapstone on the inside of the firebox and personal designs cut into the stove.

    Long term, yes.

The two VC stoves need to go at some point. The new Woodstock seems like a cat version of the 30NC... but possibly better looking, though I still haven't seen a photo of the entire stove.

The end point for my stoves is to have three identical cat stoves. It would make life easier for timing burn cycles.

Since it is your money and not mine, I would like to see you get three Blaze kings in your house. Three PH soap stones would be nice too.

I have always enjoyed reading up on your stove evolutions. I probably have enjoyed reading about it more than you have enjoyed doing it though.

Can't do a Blaze King right now. The Princess is too small (at this point of my insulation journey) and two of the chimneys can not take an 8" liner.

If BK has a 3.5 cu ft stove that took a 6" liner, I would be all over that.

I love how the stove looks, but I just don't know how well it would perform for me. I'm looking forward to the new Woodstock since it is larger and I think the burn times will be more towards what I am looking for.

Right now the new Woodstock seems like it is a cat version of the 30NC. I was able to squeeze 12 hours of usable heat from the 30 last year (stove temps were at 250 on reload). If I could have a 30 sitting at 400 degrees for 16-24 hours, that would give me a huge wood burning boner (WBB for short).

Have I mentioned recently how happy I am that I am no longer driving all over the Northeast picking up stoves. The Hearthstone Mansfield trip still annoys me. The Defiant was the most hairy trip; February during a heavy snow storm all the way to upstate New York.

The trip to Maryland to pick up the Encore was the best trip of the six trips. No traffic, made great time, and the stove was in FAR better condition than the photos made it appear.

    This.
    At least during SS.
I'd like a stove to run at 550-600 for more than 2-3 hours too.
    Does someone make one?

The 30 can hold temps over 550 for 3-4+ hours when I do it right.

    Bbar,

I think it's safe to say that we all strive for a huge WBB. Too funny!

WBB!!!!  I love it!! I'm looking forward to seeing the new Woodstock as well. With buying a new house I just might need a second stove to put in the basement.

It's my guess that Woodstock intends to get really aggressive with the pricing on the Steal Union's when they become available. They are investing lots into going into this new market of lower cost big/capable heaters. Yes, they have big capable heaters today in the PH but it's a higher cost unit. These new stoves are going to go after the guy that wants the big bang for the buck, in a no nonsense heater that doesn't need to be pretty as long as it's putting out lots of heat for a long period of time.

It's my guess that once they get the technology right with this first stove that they'll start a line of stoves that scale down to even more modest budgets and sq ft capability and target stoves that the big box stores sell. There's not much to differentiate in those except price, but with all these cool little "personalization" options that WS is willing to provide with this new casting machine they have, they will have a 1-up in that market.

I've gotta' say, I LOVE those Andirons that have the Moose as the design on them. Isn't that cool?!

Can't wait to go over to the puzzle palace and say "Yippy Skippy!!! Woodstock is back in town!!!" LOL!!:rofl: :p

Yes. A Woodstock Fireview does the trick very nicely as do many others.

I know Dennis. You've been telling me that for a few years now.:)
Unfortunately, the Fireview isn't my "cup of tea".

Then perhaps the Progress or even the new stove would suit you better. Especially the new one as that will be less expensive and even bigger firebox.

I'd love to see the new one once it's finalized.
If the intro price is good and the timing is right, it could be a contender.
Believe me, I'm looking at all options.

I just hope I enjoy the look of the stove and it looks better than the pics I have seen to this point. The legs have me worried. Not a fan of those. Maybe it will look better when I finally see the entire stove.
