Just saw an Ad on FB regarding Woodpellets.com Spring sale. They've got some softwood pellets for $239 ton that "don't meet their strict standards" Check out their site if interested.

Wonder what is wrong with them?

 

Explanation is slightly higher ash and slightly less btus than their standards allow for a softwood.

They still offer to sell me Cleanfire Douglas fir for $419 ton

 

I put in my Zip code, and they offer me 5 brands, 2 ton minimum ......

 

Bet you wanted to hog out on those Douglas Firs at that price, didn't you...

well, you know all about us unscrupulous pellet dealers, Jay. We all get together, usually after our secret Snidely Whiplash fan club meetings, after setting global pellet prices and drinking Absinthe (with baby tears added, of course), and re-tally our blacklist of those "problem" customers. We compare the lists, joke and talk about each person on the list, and maybe, pending any new developments, change the order, or add new people to it. Then we all go out, put on our Dalmatian jackets, crank up our Bugatti Veyrons, head over to the airport to get on our private jets (harem inside, of course...just waiting), and fly out to our private islands (aka: lair), where we plot our next evil act, usually consisting of price gouging, electing the next president, paying lobbyists, paying off politicians , and basically just deciding what our next step in world domination is to be.....

 

I will add to the information that, that offer of $239/ton for imperfect Cleanfire pellets has been advertised for about a month.
It is possible that there is nothing wrong with the pellets. It might be just a marketing test to see what lower
price the product will move to low price point customers. Amazon does this. "Finds a reason to lower the price, to see who bites
and yet distinguishes the product from the premium priced product."
I find it very interesting that they are are of stock of $279/ton Maine's choice while Lowe's has 100 tons of Maine's Choice
at each store, selling for $199/ton or $99.50/ton.

 

But they are also losing money doing that.
Some businesses are not in business to lose money.

 

Well there you go. A confession right from the horse's mouth. We knew all along those evil bastage dealers were conspiring against us innocent customers and this confirms it. Picturing LW sitting in a room with his nefarious distributor cronies doing his best Dr. Evil impression: "One Billion Dollars...mwoohaha"

 

Also, Lowes might have gobbled up the lions share of MC this year, leaving little for other stores to get their hands on.
