Anyone ever order chain from Bailey's? Seems to be a lot cheaper. Looking for a good value chain.

They have all sorts of cutters and configurations including full skip, which would not be good for what I do, but still interesting.

I have quite a few. I bought a bunch of 20" loops a few years ago, for $10.99. Still have several in the box. I think is Carlton chain. I find it comparable to Oregon, but a few steps behind Stihl.

That was certainly a good value. I have so many, I haven't looked at prices in years.

Unless you buy a lot of stuff their shipping kills you. You have to buy at least 6 or more chains before its cheaper than somewhere else once you figure the shipping per loop charge.

I want something that I can sharpen and not worry about being a little wasteful in my sharpening. Stihl chain isn't cheap.

I have a few and they are just fine especially for the price. My main go to is treestuff.com it's $15 a chain last I checked and they are Oregon chains. I do love oilmatics but they are not cheap by me...:( https://www.treestuff.com/store/start.asp?category_id=306

Madsens sells loops 2 for 1. It's oregon but it works out to around $.20 a dl. They'll make up loops in whatever dl count you need and you pay for 1 and get 2.

Woodland Pro is made by Carlton. Bought my newest ripping chains from Bailey's.They are priced per link & sold as such instead of a set price like most regular chain loops.Great quality at a decent price.

    Bought 10 of the 20" Oregon 5 - LGX & 5 LPX when they had a sale
Buying 10 & with shipping, was about $16 per loop.
Got some other stuff too, "T" handle metric allens for chain saw & a box of files.

Watch for good sales & order a lifetime supply, you'll save some $$.

Like said, shipping isn't cheap with Baileys'
    & in Alaska, it's even worse !

I'm looking for five 24 inch loops 3/8" in .050" width to fit a 25" bar. Not sure why the chain says 24 inch for a 25 inch bar. The package says 33RS 84.

I just can't keep spending $30 a loop plus tax if there are cheaper good options out there. Thanks to Pallet Pete, I'm set-up to sharpen chains so I may be running through chains faster, but it'll be way more efficient and enjoyable than throwing dust and smoking logs. I'll check out some of the links above. Thanks for your guidance everyone.

Geesh! Had a guy come by this morning trying to snag 2 of my pallets while I was on the phone ordering chain. That won't happen again. Those pallets will be covered with wood by tomorrow. I know pallets are valuable but really? They were right next to my wood pile. Obviously, I was intending to use them for stacking.

Anyway...I picked up 5 loops and 2 grinding wheels from Tree Stuff. Oregon 3/16" wheel and 1/8" wheel. The wheel I bought at TSC will be used to grind rakers and the Oregon wheels will be used by for my cutters. I'm too lazy to hand file the rakers and can sacrifice a wheel for that purpose.

Thanks to Pallet Pete and all you guys for helping me find a good site. This one is a keeper.

Jim Goodall equipment is who I am talking about. This is a link to the forester chain in 24/25" loops but he has carlton for about $1 more per loop. Poke around his site on ebay.I think his online store may even be cheaper??? But you take the $6 shipping charge and divide it by 5 chains its only about $1.25 a cchain and this chain is $13.30 so your still about $15 a loop to your door.

I'll save this for future reference. Just bought 5 chains so that makes a total of 8 for my 441, so I'm good for a while.

Thanks for the link. Those are pretty cheap. I bought a couple different sizes to test against RS at the GTG. :)

Super cheap. I'm tempted to buy and compare the 3 different chains.
