So a guy I know has one of these mills. He’s done some sawing for me but refuses to take money. I bring him logs as payment.
I’m trying to find a carbide blade for that mill but am having no luck. Anyone know who or where I can find a carbide blade? 144″ x 1.25″ x 0.042″

Just for pics sake we milled up these 16 foot red oaks yesterday. He wants them for a scissor truss system in a carport he’s building. The only reason he bought the mill was to build this car port. Mill is cheaper than lumber I suppose.

    Premium Carbide-Tipped Bandsaw Blade

He's a smart man. One good sized building worth of lumber and the mill is paid for. The HM126 is their mid sized mill and is around 4k with tax. 4k wouldn't buy much lumber today.

The open air structure I'm building to cover/protect the mill priced out at $3,300... whether I figured rough sawn or conventional lumber. I can mill that much lumber (about 1600 board feet) in 2-3 days.

I think a bandsaw mill has to have one of the quickest payback time periods of any tool.

I really like the idea of a swing mill, because it uses every possible part of the log instead of milling off flats.

I agree about a swing mill, but have talked with (on a forum) owners that confirm my questioning of the practicality of them on medium to smaller logs.
I'd love to have a regular supply of 30" + logs and a swing mill, but those trees are long gone around here.

Bahco can make those blades I think- have to go through a dealer. I will take a guess that the cost of a blade will be over $200ea I signed up to become a dealer for them. but it will be a couple weeks before I hear anything on that. Their blades are a little different than the standard brazed on chunk in as much that it is a fusion process. They are a Swedish firm. It was interesting that they were 50% less expensive than a couple US firms, as I was quoting carbide tipped blades to another customer -a machine shop.

Not to mention, I’m not aware of any as budget friendly options in the swing mill platform.
