One of the BKs. Probably the Ashford 30.
Long slow burns, and the ability to crank it if needed. Less wood use in the process.

I'm content. If I had to change, I'd try a Princess. I need a low/slow burn rate, 2 cuft per 24 hours is not unusual for me. 3 cuft/24 hours is about my max burn rate.

I have wanted one of these from the first time I've seen them. They are awesome looking in person. Cook, bake goodies and warm your buns all in one. I was just thinking about one again with all the cooking and baking this Thanksgiving. I'll bet food even tastes better out of or off of one. :flipeggs::stirpot::chef:

Great dream home stove….. But probably not the best for every day use….

fox9988 I too have been tempted by the dark side. I would like to try a Woodstock Hybrid or Ideal Steel. Mainly to compare to my BK Princess. I like the BK though....

30 hours of burn time is amazing. Bk makes amazing stoves. I'm thinking about getting one and eliminating my oil tanks and furnace and only use wood for heat..I'm not sure if my wife will be ok with it. Hopefully. I would probably go with the Princess

If that had a thermostat, and a big enough firebox.......can I change my answer?

I've wanted a Blaze King for a while. Still on my want list. Longer burn time and very efficient burning. But the Woodstock Stoves have caught my eye too.

I look at burn time and efficiency.

So when I do go to buy a new stove (won't be happening any time soon) I'll have a tough decision. Lol

That BK King looks like a beast and it throws out some heavy duty heat. Those woodstock stoves are turning alot of heads especially with the IS and hybrids they are making..that's a tough decision

Princess, Ashford 30, and Sirocco 30 all have the same firebox, if I remember correctly.
Turn the furnace therm. down every once in a while....maybe she won't notice.

Ok that's good to know. The thermostat is set at 64 , it hasn't gone on because the stove gets the therm reading of 73 so it doesn't go on. I figure with another stove I wouldn't need oil at all.

NYCountry, we've had only wood heat for over 35 years now. Has never been a problem either. We love it.

As for the stove, we have it already! We absolutely love our Fireview.

The princess is a different but similar size firebox than the 30 series stoves. The efficiency and emissions are a little higher with the princess.

Even though I have the ideal stove to heat my home I would always want a furnace or other thermostatic heat source that could keep the house warm in the event of stove failure, sickness, vacation, etc.

Other than the 8" chimney requirement, the BK king is the ideal stove. #1 stove in the world for efficiency and provides a 40 hour burn. Yes sir.

I thought that was the case. Thanks for clarifying, since I was too lazy to go check.

So Dennis do you not leave home for a weekend in winter? I have oil back up in case I got to go away for weekend. and hot water. Even with IS basement thermostat set to 50 to save pipes in case... otherwise would love to be wood only:D

First choice is BK K. Second choice was NC30 and I just bought that stove this spring. But I need to install it. Have to build a hearth and everything for it as it will be a new install.

Not usually but have a couple times. If it doesn't get too cold we can get by but don't like to let the house get much below 50. One time we left for several days so hired a neighbor boy to come fill the stove. That was a mistake but turned out okay....barely. Got home to a frozen water pump but it must have just frozen as it took me about a minute or less to get things going again. House was pretty cold but we got the stove going nicely in time to keep from freezing ourselves. This was with our old stove; not the Fireview. Also before we added insulation and put in new doors and windows.

Overall, it really has not caused us problems other than that one time. Not too bad for the time we've done this. But when I was still a boy I grew up with the same conditions; only wood heat. I survived it too.
