Does anyone make such a stove in a modern configuration?

I think this question comes up every once in a while on another site...often times with people that have a central fireplace open on both sides...people looking for a double sided stove...which there were some, at least until recently anyways...not sure if anybody bothered to have a double sided glass stove 2020 certified or not...and same for a stove with a bay front (assume that's what you are talking about) I think there are some still made, at least over seas, but not sure they can be bought here in the states anymore.

The Buck Stove Model 91 almost does what you're describing. But not really...

The clear issue (do you like that pun?) would be the wood getting knocked into the opposing side window and cracking it. Think of how much care people talk about employing when they are reloading a wood stove with the reburn tubes at the top of the stove.

There's also a bunch of European designed stoves that have more of a modern look. As I'm typing this- I don't have an opinion on them. I'm fairly agnostic about their design.

Is that actually available in the states in 2021? Many of them aren't any longer...

    .
I looked at a couple of euro stoves/heaters. They were designed for small spaces with lots of insulation. They would work for heating part of a modern house - like the living area.

I think there is a reason glass only shows up on, at most, one side of a stove. Its just not your best thermal transfer material, nor is it the strongest. Its good for ambiance & seeing the fire.

Well these days its more like too good...they need to get the firebox temps up to burn clean...Lamppa says that's why they can't put a glass in the door of the VF100 (I'm not convinced of that though...you can get reflective glass(ceramic)

Yep. Letting too much heat out too fast isn't best. Double pane might help, or a smaller panel.
