I got bored painting the deck railings so over 3 days I decided to build a shed. Used about 60% reclaimed pt 2x6 from a deck i redecked two years ago. Shed is 20x8x8ft tall sloping to 6. Probably need to redo some braces as i just threw up random scraps. About another week before the metal roofing comes in.
Looks pretty good to me. I like the lattice that you put on the sides and back. That should still get some good air flow. Do you get much sun in that spot where you built?
Nice! 8.75 cords is what I come up with. That's a nice shed, especially since you used mostly recycled wood.
It gets full afternoon sun and really good wind exposure. Its not THE best location, but its partially tucked aeay which pleases the boss. Lattice looks nice, especially from the outside/road.... also to appease the boss lol.
That looks great! Are you going to hit it with a water sealer or paint before fillin' her up? My wood shed is a small metal sided building. I've always wondered why I don't spray it down with a sealer on the inside framing when I get it emptied out. The problem is that I always wonder when it's full. LOL
Holy cow - I was literally thinking 5 minutes ago that I wished I had paid attention when the ex was building some sheds. And you just put up a tutorial of pics that should be a big help for me to put up something to store pellets in! Will probably use pallets for the sides, but the roof thing is the part that flummoxed me.
My carpentry-fu is lacking so i used simpson strong ties. Made things simpler for me. H1Z ties for the rafters, and the header ties for the header. Hardest part of doing the roof imo is putting up the header. I used a doubled up 2x6 with a 4x4 sandwiched because i had it free and available, otherwise it probably should have been a 2x10 or so. The purlins or nailers were just 2x4 non pressure treated and screwed to the rafters. Make sure to use screws instead of nails for the purlins/nailers.
Amd then you went and ruined it with words - in some other language no less (j/k - I just don't know the lingo)
