Well, was originally supposed to have eye surgery on the 30th 0f October. Got a call @ work yesterday from the surgeons office saying they had a cancellation next Wednesday, did I want it? Understand that up here, medical procedures are done by sitting on waiting lists of varying lengths, so I really didn't want to turn it down. Thank God I am caught up on all of the wood I currently have. Not sure how long I'll be laid up, will find out more today. PITA, but its got to be done. Always pays to stay ahead on the wood cause you never know your gonna be out of service. All part of growing old I guess.
I still have to catch up on my firewood supply after hip resurface, and that was 1 and 1/2 years ago. Good luck to ya and hope you recover quickly!!
If you had expected to wait until a few months from now to have this done... the good news is... you ought to be perty healed up by then ... Good luck.
Hope you recover quickly Rotti, at least you have "115# of no nonsense" to sit by your side during recovery. I'm sure he's good company.
Yes Mitch, ole' "Big Arse" will no doubt be sticking to me like velcro. When I had my TJR left knee 2 years ago he was my constant companion. Amazing how they react when something is different.
Thanks all for the kind words of support. No doubt I'll have some time to sit next to the putor and enjoy the FHC.
I also say go for it rotti. I'll be facing some eye surgery soon myself. Not looking forward to it but I have only one eye so have to take care of anything quickly.
Good luck on the surgery. Make sure you follow the post-surgery instructions faithfully and fully. We want you to be able to see what we are posting about you while you were in recovery.
They say that the eye is a fast healer. May that go doubly true for you. Thoughts and prayers from here for a great recovery.
Well, went and had a visit with the doctor today. Back to work on the 24th. The whole experience went well and I once again have 20-20 in the left eye. Hopefully, in about 6 months, they will do the right eye. If that is as successful, then I should be able to shed the glasses completely. Nice to be looking out the left side and seeing clearly as opposed to the haze I've had for the last several months.
Glad it went well. I remember when my wife had Lasik eye surgery. (She wore glasses since about 6 yrs old.) In the morning she woke me up yelling "I can see, I can see" She couldn't remember ever waking up & being able to see, always had to put on glasses or contacts. The whole drive back ,she was reading road signs she had never been able to read before. Amazing what many of take for granted until we get a dose of reality. Protect your eyes ! !
Animals know, they know when someone is ill or injured and they stay right by your side. Both my boxers act the same way when my wife and I are sick or hurt too. Thumbs up for a speedy recovery
This sounds like my Mom when I drove her back from her eye surgery. She had worn glasses since she was 7 and now in her late 7os got to go without glasses. The down side is that she had to start wearing them for reading but not for driving or everyday living. Really glad everything went well. Many prayers have been answered!!!
