Local power company replaced all the utility poles in my area. They said the land owners could have the old ones. Two posts and a ridge pole. Woodport will be 40' long and (probably) 8' wide, 7'-6" tall. Posts are set 20' apart, ridge pole (40' long) cantilevered 10' on each end. Roof will be metal.
I like it fox9988. I'm a little concerned about the ridge "poles" (unsupported) meeting in the center.... But it may work out fine, so until then,
The ridge pole is one continuous 40' telephone pole, spanning 20' between the posts, cantilevered 10' on each end.
Oh....that solves it. Sorry I missed that. Should be real gooder to go. Really anxious to see the final product.
That ought to hold a couple stacks of huh :stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke:
About 18 cords. ~12 years of me burning full tilt . Yeah I live near the equator with lots of insulation. And a Woodstock.
Right on. They took a line down that went along one end of our place. We inherited some really nice poles there!
Yeah. A friend brought his tractor and auger over. We drilled 5 holes for trees and 2 bushes that the power company bought me for allowing them to cut some problem trees out from under the lines. I went ahead and had him do the holes for the wood-port too. Saved me a lot of post-hole digging the old fashioned way.
