Wood moisture check

    I just whacked a few splits open from different stacks of wood that were cut this year. All the fir (the bulk of my supply) is ready to burn at 18-19%, even the stuff that was just cut the first week of June. The alder that was cut in February is all over the board from 20 to 33% depending on how big the splits are.
