    wood is a bright yellow when splitting. there never were any hedge apples on the ground, and i don't think i have ever seen any mulberries.

    The only Mulberry tree I ever saw in my life turned the road under it reddish purple from all the squished berries by cars.

    The big problem is that the birds eat the berries and “drop” them on your laundry on the clothesline, usually on your white sheets. I think there are male and female Mulberry trees and the females have fruit. My aunt had a huge Mulberry tree and she made the best pies with those berries.
