Hey everyone. Any ideas on what type of wood this is. Found the ad on offerup but I had walked by this wood before in my neighborhood and though maybe oak because of the bark but I don't have a lot of experience with oak. Missed out on it because of work but still curious. Thanks

Wow looking up norway maple it does look the exact same as ash. It was a light inner wood with no darker core.

Both are good hardwoods so you’re good either way.

It's similar bark. Also similar on the BTU scale to ash.

Having received rounds of both ash and norway maple I'd say a quick way to distinguish between the two is the ash is much lighter than the maple.

Norway maple has a dark, small circle right in the center of the round.

Here's a pic of a bunch of shorties I split up into wedges that I gave away to a neighbor for his firepit.
