Wish I had some better pictures. These are from this weekend. They're really heavy and still wet, they split easy and the wood grain reminds me of silver maple. Silver maple is really the only maple I've dealt with so I'm not really sure about othe maples. Theres 1 or 2 rounds of ash in the second picture but the rest is all the same. Bark seems a little strange for maple. The day after I unloaded these, the flies were all over them, sucking the moisture off the end cuts. Im assuming that would be another checkmark for maple since it would be sweet. Thanks.
Looks like it could be sugar maple. Best btu's for the species. Very heavy when green. Real nice load of wood BTW!
