Ok, so yesterdays "Wood ID#1" is Black Cherry. I'll get that tree in the next few weeks.

    So what is this one?

Cherry is always a good score. Great BTU's for the effort involved :fire:

Did that get uprooted? Almost looks like it continued growing on the ground for a while. Save some for the smoker! I have a little bin I fill with chunks that are really crooked or just a little too small to call firewood.

Blown over by a little lady that runs a free local Long Island firewood delivery service that visited us 2 years ago. Her name was "Sandy". ;) Yea, the root ball is still somewhat attached and in the ground so the tree has a bit of new growth popping out. Not for long!! ;)

From the water sprouts that tree has been on its side for two years.
An awful lot of growth for one year but not impossible.

DONE! Just in time before 3 feet of snow expected tonight! Prolly a while before I can get into the woods to get anything else.

And you guys are correct, this Cherry smells GREAT! Cut really easy...

Thanks.... Oh that thing is a TANK!! The 14 hp single cylandar Kohler on it seems to have more power than the 5.4l V8 in my F150.
