I don't know about you, but I just can resist the opportunity of dropping a dying/dead oak for next years supply!

Some nice equipment you have that will sure make that hoarding a lot easier. I guess your into the color orange. Even the trailer. Your wedge is yellow so might need to do something about that.

Looks like a nice size oak and I do not see any rot. Good for you.

For sure! However even a dead and/or dying oak I'll still wait for more than from now until next heating season. I like my wood to be very, very dry.

Also that size of log is excellent but as I've aged, I now much prefer logs where I don't need the tractor to lift them. Sad, but that is the way it is.

Strong work! Side note - I like your old Dakota! You got a 318 or a 360 cid under the hood? I had the same model Dakota in the early 2000’s with a 318. I LOVED that truck. That thing could scoot!!

I think everyone here can relate. Driving past a dead standing tree turns into a daydream of what could be.

Nice big ole tree there. Lotsa btu’s.

Had a 2002 Dakota SXT. Nice little ride that truck was.

Looks like a nice place to be making wood. Easy access.

Unfortunately my Dakota SLT was accidentally assembled with the little 3.9 V6. Since I bought it new in 1999 my only wish is that it had a 318 or 360. It does OK around town but struggles on the highway especially with hills. My Dakota has been serviced by me throughout its life and still runs and looks like new.

 Nice Oak, truck, can’t beat it when it’s dead like that.
