I'd be curious how much wood and how long of a firing it would take to heat a 30,000 gallon pool? I'd like to see the heat output data.

    I like the idea though.

I built a wood pool heater this year works quite well. I get about a one degree increase from mine. I use it primarily to burn the odd punky stuff i get in my wood piles.

It works very well on a 10000 gal. in ground pool. I can heat the pool 2deg. per hour so long as the air temp is 55+. We did not go for the pizza oven option but it looks like it could be fun.

It does use more wood then your home wood stove as they are not air tight so tend to burn faster. We just put the pool in last fall and got the heater in June so can't say how much wood we will use in a season. From June to the last week in September keeping the pool at 90-92% ( yes Jane likes a hot pool) I used about a half cord.

Even the local deer heard about the warm pool in the woods and stopped by.
