She told me the little bit of maple and cherry we have been burning this week left a lot of ash and not many coals; and she was missing the oak we had been burning earlier this winter.

This fall she was giving me a hard time this fall about bringing more wood in the yard, but after realizing how much better the oak is to burn she has changed her view a bit. She said the next time I mention oak, instead of worrying about space, she will ask what she can do to help!

Most Husbands are affected by a common disorder its called SAD the medical term is Selective Auditory Disorder we get it soon after we say" I Do " Common symptoms are: ( 1) hearing expressions like "Are you listening to me"
    (2) Did you hear Me!!!
    (3) Are you paying Attention to ME !!
If you have any of these symptoms you probably have SAD

Glad your wood opened her eyes. Sometimes you have to show them better than you can tell them. Works in several situations...:whistle::zip:

Well that sure beats a criticism. Not a great way to get ahead.

Thanks for the offer Brad! I’ll have to see if I can get away for a day next week while I’m on vacation; if there is still oak laying around. I’m constantly amazed how much they seem to be cutting down that way. I don’t see anything like that up here. And sorry for the slow response. At some point Tapatalk stopped sending me email notifications about threads, and I’ve been trying to remember to check back in on things but I get busy and forget. I’m starting to use the website a little more. I started scrolling through my notifications on the website and realized I had some responses to this thread. I had forgotten I had even written it! It’s been a busy week.

Some of you have heard this one but when Whitney complains about me cutting wood all the time i just tell her “ I’m keeping that sweet A$$ warm one log at a time” After a marathon splitting session in the dark friday night she did say “WOW” looks nice to this wall on Saturday when she saw it completed. 0EF77A09-4353-490C-AD19-5D2BB0603510.jpeg 0EF77A09-4353-490C-AD19-5D2BB0603510.jpeg
