Raining on frozen ground today. Rain & ice on wood stack, top 1/4" of soil is greasy mud, nice to have the landscape cloth under the pallets: Water can't soak into frozen ground in the yard, puddles & future winter kill of grass if it stays all winter.: Dry wood in the wood shed. burns great, dry & airflow - continues to season. Did I mention "DRY" ! What a yucky day. 38°, rain. some ice on the drive way but mostly rain which will freeze tonight. Yard a wet mucky mess, Hypothermia weather day. Did I mention "The wood in the wood shed is "DRY" "
Well, we're not that bad yet Dave.....but I feel for ya'. We've had a whole bunch of rain recently (need it badly), and the ground seems saturated, but it's still soaking in when the rain stops for a minute. Firewood is dry here too...the stuff in the shed anyway.
Yup crappy wet weather here too. You are right on ref the shed. Iuse the loadr to move it from the shed up to the covered screen room and eventually inside. Stays dry all the way. BD, generally how much do you go thru each year?
Gotta love a good shed! I am kicking around the idea of building another one this winter so one shed can be dedicated to equipment and one to wood.
Now 33°, rain, fog Temp dropping, will make the roads a mess Glad I could spend the day & evening watching football Go Steelers
