People see my little Kubota bx and often times make a joking comment about it being a useless toy ! I usually end up with some open jaws ! One tough little tractor ! No banging into good trees either lol ! In my opinion....the grapple has been the most useful attachment for me. No more pulling..dragging..carrying for these aging bones !
Not sure if the pics are too big or what...but when I do it this way..it works....here's the bx in action !
I have a grapple from CTA compact tractor attachments. It is pretty lightweight and strong. Doesn't eat up your lifting capacity.
Exactly! I've got some wheels weights...2 inch wheel spacers on rear...and the carryall has landscape blocks in it for extra ballast. I can lift and move ridiculous things !
I’m used to folks scoffing at my little work horse… the 1500 pound machine will pick just under half a ton though… this green white oak stub weights around 600-800#s
Yep. Does the work of three slackers and never calls in sick. Doesn’t complain about working in the rain, snow, heat, etc… Never shows up drunk. The list goes on and on.
They’re pretty proud of them. I bought this one used with bucket, forks, post hole auger, back hoe, and a gimpy engine for 8k… the grapple was another 3k. New motor was another 2k, but it’s made me 10 times that.
You need to reduce the size of the pictures some. I have to reduce all the pictures I take before posting them. Looks like your Kubota is able to hold it's own. That some pretty good size logs in that grapple.
I’d keep that tractor for home use. The advantage of my machine is I can easily fit through a backyard gate and work it in small yards. The disadvantage is when I work it in my woods it gets easily stuck just like any wheeled skid steer would.
Thanks so much for the help. Now I just need to figure out how to reduce them ! It definitely holds its own. I'm pretty careful and move slower...and do maintenance well beyond what's recommended...so it holds its own..and hopefully holds up !
Gotcha ! I know how the wheeled skid steers are. Our over the wheel tracks finally broke on ours after many years of service. Quickly remembered why we got them to begin with ! Did put some new HD deep lugs on this past fall...seems to help some....but gonna start pricing some tracks .
