    Hello

Snowy did a super job on her Whits so here is my effort. :)

Found this 1993 Whitfield Quest in decent shape. Everything worked except the circuit board.

Just gave it a good cleaning, put in new upgraded graphite impregnated door and window gaskets, a new exhaust blower and replaced the old brass auger bearing with the upgraded Nylatron auger bearing. The auger motor works just fine but I can put in a shinny new one if need be. :)
Then I sprayed 2 coats of Very High Temp VHT flat aluminum with 3 coats of high temp clear on the trim and exhaust housing. Doing all the trim and making it shine took A lot of masking and fussing but the results seem to make it worth it. :)
I also sprayed high temp charcoal on the body inside and out and Very High Temp Flat black in the Fire Box and ash pan.

    Thanks Don

Tell ya what my friend, If we had not driven so far to get that sucker I would have left it right there in the little barn it was in.

The gal quoted me $200 and with the limited pictures that was not way out of the ball park, but after seeing it up close and personal in all it's YUCK the excitement really took a dive.

Had the seller not reduced the price on her own as quick as she did it would still be sitting there.

That sucker was a real train wreck.

But it was certainly gratifying to bring it back from "The valley of the shadow" ya know

Far better than it's other likely fate.

    Hi
This stove is far away from me and even with these pics, I cannot imagine what it looks like up close!
