I found a whitfield advantage 2 for 300 in good working order built in 1991.

Is that a good deal ? heats up to 2200 sq ft.

The Whits were good stoves for there time.

If your going to be home when it's burning, for the most part? Leaving for 8 hrs of work, would be fine. But for an overnight stay somewhere? No.

It's prob a manual light model, and will prob need a DEEP cleaning. But for the heat demand you are looking to meet?? It should do fine.

I just picked up a 9 yr old Bixby Pellet/Corn stove, $500 in venting, some pellets and a Hearth pad for $300. Great deals are out there.

Its actually for the garage I think. I FINALLLLLLY got the inspector to sign off and allow a pellet stove in the garage as long as its 18" off the floor and outside vented. It may run on weekends and some nights through the winter. Not all the time ! The garage is approximately 700 sq ft block.

Like Dex said, best bet is to take that stove all the way apart, bring it outside, and blow it out w/ compressed air. Clean all the motors & blowers, check wiring & gaskets, and re-assemble. Should be a solid heater if everything is right.

Are you going straight out? Or do you want an up and out install?

I just acquired some brand new Simpson Dura vent Pellet vent Pro (only sell standard Pellet vent at HD or TSC)

I'm pretty sure we could work out a deal?

Pete, there is a Harman Accentra by me for $650!!! That is a true work horse, bottom feed, , and also the prettiest stove in Harmans line up (Will711 has this stove).

If I didn't just pick up that Bixby stove, I would be all over this one!! I still may?!?
