You never know where you will find a Firewood Hoarder, was helping a friend move his Mother from Ohio to West Virginia, we needed a extra U-Haul to get all the stuff back to WV. U-Haul dealer near us had the truck we needed but had nobody to drive it back. Mom knows a guy from church that may help. Several hours later we find out that both of us are members of FHC. Thanks Walt for all of your help and was awesome meeting you and your son. Hope you had safe travels.
Long day for my son Chad and I yesterday , about six hours out and six hours back. The highlight of my day was meeting Ward Hoarder. When we stopped for gas I mentioned that if I wasn't making this trip I would probably be cutting and splitting firewood. Ward then proceeded to tell me he belongs to a forum called Firewood Hoarders Club , and that put an immediate smile on my face. What a fine man and it was a pleasure to meet him ,I wish we could have more time to visit. Ward mentioned I was the first hoarder that he has met face to face , I hope he can find time to come to a GTG. Chad and I got home about eleven last night we will probably cut and split this morning until it gets hot. Once again it was so good to meet you.
This is a great story! As for Walt helping, that does not surprise me at all. He has helped many folks. Ward, it would be great if you could make it to Walt's place in October and you could meet many good hoarders.
Small world and an incredible coincidence. Yes there are many fine folks on this forum and I've had the pleasure to meet several of them. Hats off to walt
Too bad FHC doesn't have a swag shop anymore...I bet a "where's Walt" game would sell...instead of the signature red/white shirt, you just look for the blue bibs and big smile!
it's funny. We talked about the swag store. I told Walt that I saw a FHC sticker in the back window of a pickup several years ago up in PA. It brightened up my long drive.
I even talked about wanting to visit that feller down south in Goat Town, GA. I travel south a few times a year. Usually around March on my way to the Florida Flywheelers event.
That would be great to ... We've been to WV twice going to MI and once to PA. I told Miz Carol I would really like to bring our SxS up and some of the Hatfield/McCoy Trail System.
