Where to get stihl parts?

I've been burned by Amazon fake stuff to many times, I won't even order water from them. Looking to replace the oiler and related seals/filter....what ever is needed to restore the oiling in my MS-250 to like new oiler performance. Nothing really wrong with it, but nothing great either, and despite numerous cleanings, including of the oil tank, I can tell it's getting close to end of life, oil don't come off the chain like it used to. I can't tell you exact amount, but I can tell there's more oil left in the tank when I re-gas than when the saw was new. I like to replace stuff BEFORE it fails. Place I bought my stihl from will only sell bars and bar nuts, anything else "have to leave it for service" and it's a few month wait. Using the same stihl bar oil I always get from where I bought the saw.

 

I get Stihl parts from a stihl dealer. Hopefully you have another one nearby that can order the parts you need. You might also find the parts or a parts saw on eBay.

 

A dealer where you have to leave it for service and that is months away? Sheesh, never heard of such. Pitiful! Surely there is a dealer in your locale that will sell you parts. If not, I have found actual Stihl dealers via online searches. Sorry you have trouble like this, what is the world coming to!

 

Stihl parts are not available from a place like Amazon. Some copy-cat parts are such as air filters , coils etc. but not the real deal. I do see some actual Stihl parts listed on e-bay depending on what you are looking for and what model saw you have.
Find a good dealer and order from them what you need ( maybe someone on the forums is a dealer for Stihl ?)
You can look up what you need and find what part number you need then pass that on to your dealer to order.

I do know that some things have become hard for dealers to get their hands on.
We are lucky here having at least 3 dealers in about a 10 mile radius.

I don't understand a dealer just selling bars and bar nuts.
If they are just ordering parts for you they are still making a profit so why not do that. Makes no sense to me.
Sounds like someone needs to find a new dealer.

As to the local dealer, that's how they decide to operate. It's a local, non-chain hardware store and the 80 year old owner has never left the county and still doesn't believe that lowes or HD are competition. As for service, no one wants to work, and it's the same situation with the husky dealer at the co-op across the street. All the mechanics quit because they didn't get 20/hr (more) raises and as I understand the entire service dept is the guys that normally drive the forklifts of feed and seed reading the tech manuals and "figuring it out". I'm not driving 50 miles to another dealer to order a 10$ part. I don't live in a major metro area with a stihl dealer on every corner. But I digress, the links was what I was looking for, thanks! Sadly they don't carry the oiler parts I need though....

 

I would've recommended HLSupply but I did not realize they sell Stihl. I have only bought Husky stuff there but they are def legit. I just can't imagine a local Stihl dealer not willing to supply parts on order.

I think you can also get parts from ACE Hardware.

 

Is the saw leaking oil onto the floor? They have a little plastic tube that gos between the tank and pump on a Stihl 021-023-025 family of saws. I’ve personally never had to replace a pump itself but the o-rings on the plastic fitting I have. To pull the pump on an 025 you thread a screw into the bottom of the pump to pull it out.
