Wondering about fall colors in various areas. I'm sure yooperdave has some good fall colors by now. Usually we have a decent amount of color starting by now but this year there is very little showing.

And how about raking or blowing the leaves. When does it start in your area?

And for your enjoyment, here are a couple of my favorite fall color pictures. First one is the Cut River Bridge in Michigan's UP. The other is a picture from our place.

Beautiful pictures Dennis, thanks for sharing!! Seems like every year it gets later and later, but usually around end of Oct, beginning of Nov we are pretty knee deep in leaves. Not looking forward to blowing them this year as I cleared & cleaned a lot of space out back that normally I wouldn't blow or touch.

No color here yet. Walnut trees are dropping leaves, but I just chop them up with the mower for now. Nice pictures!

The Red Maples are just starting to change. Our lone Birch has been turning for a couple weeks or so. It's always the first.
I'll just run the GT over whatever falls.....good lawn mulch, but I only have one Maple in the yard to deal with.

Maples are just starting to redden up here. The long needled pines have yet to start their annual drop. No raking this year, I finally smartened up in my old age. We are just going to sweep our way thru fall...............................

Not a whole lot of change here in central PA as of yet. I'm starting to think any leaves that drop will just float away so no need to rake this year.

Leaf gathering time is generally in the Fall.

Once or twice when I was much younger and really didn't GAS about the yard, gathering time was in the Spring.

As a matter of fact......I did take a few pics of the leaves that are starting to turn. Not many, but there are those trees that are fully committed right now!

Those pictures are stunning Dennis! Thanks for sharing. Out here in the Sierras things don't start really turning until the end of October. To give you an idea, I'm at 4000 feet elevation and it's 83 at my house right now. I think we've seen 6 or 7 clouds in 3 months. I will say though that the nights are really cooling down and somehow the acorns on my oaks know that it's Fall and are starting to drop. There's a canyon by my house that turns so red that it looks like it's on fire in the Fall. I'll have to take some pictures and upload them.

Once late October hits, it's all hands on deck for leaf patrol. Last year I vowed no projects in the fall anymore that is leaf and pine needle season.

Alders were very dry before this weekend so they were dropping brown and dirty yellow leafs. The ornamental trees on the school property are turning red now. Down island, the maples are starting to turn yellow with very brown edges.

We cut 3 and lost 2 Bradford pears which was the sum total of trees in our yard a few years ago, so now it’s basically clean up what leaves blow in from lazy neighbor’s yards...

The color should be starting soon but except for a very few isolated leaves, it hasn't yet. This photo was taken on October 20, 2016. Lots of leaves still on the trees. We don't lose the oak leaves until late in November or December, and beech leaves stay on the trees until early Spring. Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year. I love spending time in the woods, even if it's just to walk around.
