I noticed a gel like substance on a cherry tree. I did not see any holes. It is a bit sticky but I did not notice any smell and NO I didn't taste it. Has anyone else seen this?
Borer. Grubs mine the sapwood of the tree and often reduce it to powder. Adult females bore tiny holes in the bark and lay eggs in the cambium layer of the tree.
