As you guy know I watch auctions for tools. Coming up in about a week is a sale and there is a Dolmar PS-540 with 18" bar. It looks in good condition. I did not get to hear it run. The auctioneer assured me that it does run nicely.
I am not a Dolmar guy so what is it worth? I could use another 18" and this seems like a nice saw. Comes with 3 chains.

I thin I gave $85 for the last one I bought and it came with an extra NOS bar. Bought it from a former dealer who relocated and used it as his personal saw. Nice ones go for $175-$200 from what I can tell.

Good saws.. Use a small mount husky bar. Same as 346 and such. Check the chain brake for proper operation. Other than that, relatively bullet proof saws.
They piddle oil a bit at rest usually also. Gary is about correct on price.
If it's clean, "nothing broken nothing missing" $150 would be a good buy. $200 would be at the very top for sure.

The 540 came along later. They are close to 54cc and are open port.

    They held up alright.

They are of the 111 & 115 family and you can swap the P&C's around.

Most parts will interchange especially after 1997.

Dolmars and Makitas are just different colors.

The auction closed tonight and the Dolmar sold for $77. I stopped at $70 because I was going to flip it. And I try to make a minimum of $50 on a flip. I felt the resale market was about $120
