OK, what's the hole near the end of the bar for on the smaller Stihl bars? I've done a little searching but have not come to a definite answer. Some say it was used for manufacturing the bar and some say it's for hanging/storage of the saw.

I have noticed what some have mentioned that when plunge cutting, the hole at times can hold saw chips and bind up the blade.

    Thanks!

I recently picked up a couple 192t's that have the hole. The slot at the mounting end is a through slot (not closed on the end) so I hang the 14" &12" bar from the hole.
