What's the .22LR status around the country these days?

I haven't stepped foot in a fun shop in 6-8 months now due to life. I was out this morning and got some groceries early this morning. Stopped at Wally World and a fun shop. Still no .22LR on the shelf.

Just wondered what everyone else is seeing around the country?

Local shop has a good bit in stock. A brick was $45ish. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection.

I've been seeing it in the stores around here, haven't paid too much attention lately as I still have a few bricks left.

Our local Gun Shop had a deal on 9 and 22 on Black Friday. Sold out by 7am.
It's out there, and it's far better to get a hold of than say 8 mos ago.

The Bass Pro by me promised some Winchester bricks on black Friday for $25. I heard some rumors that the duck's by me would have bricks Thanksgiving evening, as well as Field and Stream (owned by duck's). But I've only found it on the shelf once all year, at Field and Stream back in the spring. A lot of the smaller gun shops have 500 round bricks, but they want $70 for it. I'm down to my last 1500 rounds of cheap bulk .22 ammo, but I still refuse to pay $70

Here in Indiana if you show up at Gander Mtn. on the day the sale ad drops, there will be .22 ammo available. There will also be lines of the same unemployed ammo flippers each week with their wives, kids, dogs, neighbors, friends, and whoever else is able to buy ammo making it last only minutes.

Limits vary, but are still in place. I went one time hoping to get 1 bucket o bullets. I was floored when they let me buy one of each package (bricks, cans, sleeves, buckets, etc) they had in stock which totaled over 2500 rounds in 1 trip!!!!!!

I quit looking in the LGS a loooooong time ago. I was burning all sorts of fuel and never getting any ammo other than the occasional 100 pack of cci for $10.

I've heard the same thing from Walmart employees, that they regularly get in .22 ammo but it only last minutes.

Walmart rarely has any here. All the neckbeards with no jobs get it all in the AM and then sell it to people for 100 bucks a brick. If people would just stop paying the flipper prices, the situation would settle down

Unfortunately, it seems like every time I'm around a gun counter, there's a guy buying his son his first .22 rifle and asking the guy working if he has any ammo hidden in the back. If those guys don't have ammo at home, they're probably going to pony up and pay those prices so their boy can start shooting right away. It just sucks that there's scum out there trying to make a few bucks on something that used to be so plentiful.

It's showing up around here again, mostly @ the LGS' Wallyworld will have it on rare occasions...I stocked up 2 years ago with several thousand rounds and have not needed to buy since.

    Finally.
Local Murdochs got in some CCI. Still limited to 1 brick a day of standard velo., or (2) 300 rnd. packs Hi-velo. Respective cost- $39.99/ 500 or $59.98/ 600.
Not what I'd call a deal but at least it's available.
You have to ask for it, they have it stashed behind the counter, but they have 20 pallets of bricks.
I should be back-up-to-snuff in the next 10 days or so.

That's part of the problem with the "shortage" people hoarding it so they can set their own prices.
