    All homemade tools have some very specific need or purpose. But I give up on this one. :D

    Tim I have never seen a hatchet like that. That tool had to be for light work but I don't know what.

    Looks like it would be used to cut thin canes or stalks on the broad side and strip leaves with the notched end. Just a guess.

    I did the same thing. I didn't find anything with the three part eye or that rake shape...
