What's a Stihl 028 WB worth?

    I looked at a couple 028 Wood Boss Stihls today. They both ran but had mis-matched hardware, worn bars (chips removed) and one had low compression. One didn't have a brake, one did.

    I see them listed at 225-250 on eBay in decent shape. His aren't in the greatest shape, but seem complete, he is also asking about half the of listings on the bay. I wouldn't mind picking one or two up as donors down the road if I can get them cheap enough.

    My question is this... what's cheap enough? I'm not finding listings that actually sold or what they sold for.

    Runners with decent bar/chain- $125-$200
    Problem runners - $50-$100
    Parts saws- $50 max (I’d be more comfortable at $20 lol)

    These are “around here” and what I’d pay prices. They’re good saws, but getting long in the tooth at this point. They’ve cut a metric crap-ton of firewood, though.
