My boss has a two-saw plan: for 15+ years it was a pair of 046's. Last year he renewed with a pair of 461's.

One of the 046's is a bit beat up but between the two there is certainly a good saw and some parts. He said he's looking to do something with them and saw the $150 bottom end + cylinder assemblies from China on eBay.

    - We studied those assemblies a bit and weren't comfortable that they would hold up.
    - If he wants a quality rebuild that doesn't cost more than the finished saw would be worth, what brand of parts are a good choice?
    - Are 54mm jugs reliable on this saw?
    - Are there any rare 046 parts that are really hard to find he should know about?

If the cranks are good $75-100 will do bearings and gaskets for them.
