what kind of chain saw do you use to cut your firewood

I use a poulan pro 18inch gas chain saw
works very good for me no problems
fires up in 3 to 5 pulls every time
I cut lots of firewood with that saw

I use my stock Stihl MS361 with either the 20" full comp chisel or 25"semi chisel skip tooth chain.

    I use a Poulan 3500, a Poulan 3750, a Husky 272, a Stihl 036 and a Dolmar 119.
If it is big stuff I use a Husky 2100, or a Poulan 505, or a Poulan 475.

I use what ever I was last working on...

I find there is less "comebacks" if I run the saw "in" , tune it , then let the owner run it some more with me....

Assortment of saws/ bars so it depends on the size of the logs/ trees at any given time- most of them are Dolmar units

I don't cut firewood any more. I did make an exception and buck up some dead ash for Dexter Day at his GTG. If I am going to cut, I pull one off the shelf.

Larger stuff a husqvarna 460 ranch 20" bar, full chisel. Anything it can't handle I don't need.

Small stuff a homelite ranger 33 with 16" bar and saftey chain. The small saw is the one my son uses when he helps me...

If were getting specific. I mostly use a stihl ms650 and husky 372xp , sometimes a stihl 011, for limbing I might use an earthquake 4518 or so.e times a husky 445. Use to use a stihl 390 a lot but I have kind of set it to the side as it is special to me.

Bars are almost always 20" but the big stihl will wear a 25" or 32" if need be.

I usually go with my Stihl 260 Pro. It's a fun saw to use and not too heavy. For slightly larger trees I use a 362c-m. I haven't had a need for a bigger saw yet (not a lot of huge trees on my property). But I've always got my eyes open for a sweet deal on a BIG saw!

This is my preferred firewood saw, lately. It's a ported 357xp.... This little saw pulls a 24" bar surprisingly well! Of course, I have many other saws to choose from, depending on my mood, and the size of wood I'm cutting. image.jpg
