IMG_4179.JPG My good friend owns a Tree Service. The deal is he brings all his cut wood to me but he brings it ALL. Some of it is trash but most is good. If his guys have time they will chunk it for me. This load was courtesy of him and my friend the emerald ash borer.

Does anyone else have a good wood supply?

Yes actually, I've got a few tree services that dump here if they're cutting in the area. Just had about 20 cord dumped here last week. Soft Maple & Oak mostly. I also have two woodlots that I maintain near me, couple miles away. Pretty unlimited supply, great to know I've got plenty of heat.

Yes, we live on 40+ acres and most of it is wooded. This means we don't have to haul wood home; just bring it from the woods. We do that with a small trailer or sometimes use the FEL on the tractor.

We also live on 40 acres we bought in '92, 10 acres more or less wooded. Haul up with wagons sometimes pulled by my truck or tractor or team of horses. I used to trade a tree trimmer wood for 1/4 beef and 1/2 hog. He got to only bringing the monster/massive slices of trunks that were buggers to bust up (didn't know about noodling). Finally called it quits on that trade.
