Man. I'd kill to see 450* at ten hours.

I'd be at 225*, and I'm not taking a picture of that. :(

I can keep a good coal bed going for well over 10 hours but it won’t be generating that much heat. o_O Last week I was surprised to see a 14 hour coal bed from burning nothing but cherry and pine even. I don’t have a cat stove though, so it’s not an apples to apples comparison.

The firebox in my stove is too small to be pushing any kind of numbers in 10 hours:rofl:  maybe some buried coals if I'm lucky.

I see this at about 10 hours. Non cat add-on wood furnace. 7.5-8 hours in my wife opens the top draft 1/2 way to give the coals more air, then the pic was taken when I get up an hour later. I give it full air till reload and I leave for work.

Using the 28-3500? Wish I could find a really nice one for a local gent. Kicking myself for not grabbing one a few years back.

Yep. They work well IME. Saw a pic of one in a guys garage, he had the output duct elbowed down to blow across the concrete floor. Said it kept that warm and really made for an awesome shop.

I see you're a Red Oak burner. I've been fortunate to have an abundance myself. Great stuff.

Loaded the Woodstock Fireview at 5:30 this morning. Check the temp this afternoon at 3:45.

    IMG_0346.jpeg

I only loaded 4 splits and there were a lot of coals from last night. I am not going for lots of heat with the outside temp during the day in the low 40s. My goal is for the stove to stay at 320 to 350 for as long as possible. I know it can do better loaded full of high BTU wood.

Thanks ! I’m thrilled with the performance of this stove. I had a reburner stove for a few years and I’m cat stove all the way now. Those blaze kings are great heaters too. Saw a queen model running at a stove shop and it was pumping out some serious heat.

I think i read it to fast (a common thing i do) and didnt feel like doing that.

We need a FHC dictionary of abbreviations/shorthand.

We have a small stove for our 1800sqft ranch.

After 7.5 hrs of red oak, I had plenty of coals to put ash splits in for reload.

    Lousy pics. Tough to focus.

The stack is reading around 200⁰
    IMG_20231214_043258.jpg

And the cat probe at about 400⁰

If your external stack reading is 200 that stove seemingly is still pumping some decent heat. Interesting how different your stack temp to Cat temp is compared to mine. More interesting info. Thanks for posting.
