My buddy wants to give it to me, how hard would it be to restore it and get it back up to par, and what brand is it please thank you for your help
Can you get a better pic of the tag on the back? Bottom middle says something “incorporated”. That may provide a clue..
Good eye. I thought it said nutel but when i typed that into a search engine Nu Tech came up. This one kinda looks like it. NU TEC Stove | Model Amity AM-40 | Wood and Coal Stove Parts
I wouldn't know much about that. Hopefully some more knowledgeable members chime in. That website i posted, at the bottom of the page, they say parts support is non existent. There were 4 parts available still. Catalyst was close to $300.
The blue is enamel and should clean up except where it's chipped off. Looking at the link above, the inside of that stove has a lot going on. If it's not all busted up or burned up from over firing, you should be able to get it in a useable state with new gaskets and a total cleaning inside. If the pipe has been open to the elements that could be causing major issues inside. Kinda a neat looking stove though. Has a nice 80's look. You can't buy a new top loader theses days. I'd grab it.
I believe you got it! There is a Vermont castings looks Just like it. I wonder if they were made in the same place.
