Guy had to move and was not taking his wood so picked up close to 2.5 cords of oak, ash and some other. He said it was all good to burn but it was split a year ago and some of the pieces are huge and will need more splitting. He wanted $350 and was willing to wait until we got it sold, but I had bad vibes about that.

Some of the smaller pieces that are dry will end up in the sell pile. The oak won't be ready for at least another year (I'm thinking 2) and will need re-split as they are huge. The trailer belongs to Lefty, my firewood partner, and it does seem to work very well. On the way back we stopped to check the load and noticed a problem on the front axle. If you look, you can put your fist between the tires on the passenger side, but can't even get a finger between them on the driver side. Going to have to get new U-bolts and re-do the one side. It would be a bad day if those tires touch while going down the road. He does not know us so I was surprised that he really wanted to wait up to a year for Lefty to sell it just to get $350.

That's one thing Ive never understood about goose necks. A lot of them seem to have the axles far in the back. For my knuckle boom build I am planning for 10% of the weight on the ball.

Truck handled it like it wasn't there, but yes, the axles seem far back.
