Couldn't pass up $198.00 softwoods at my local lumber supply store. These are from the mill in Niagra, WI. I've used 'em before… not as good as Uncle Jed's but I'm on a budget right now.

Not sure a Prius could handle this load but the old F350 barely grunted.

I hav a few projects going on right now so there's plenty of nearly free labor around although lunch today cost me $32.00! We have two bathrooms that were damaged by a water leak that are being worked on, the back wall of the kitchen is being reinsulated and sided since my wife dislikes having frozen butter come from the anyplace the fridge and I've been cleaning the St Croix and getting ready to paint it tomorrow (I hope).

The local liquidators joint used to carry this pellet. I've burnd about one ton in the past three years… not too bad. A bit ashier than the UJ's but the heat is pretty good. This year I plan on having four tons on hand… last year we cut our pellet season short since the availability was zero here in town and I didn't see any point on taking a 20 mile ride to buy 10 bags of UJ's per week.

I wasn't planning on buying any pellets from the lumber yard but the price couldn't be ignored. The manager said they were offered these at a good price and he thought he'd pass the savings along since there are plenty of folks around here that aren't rolling in dough right now.

One of the guys I know was hauling pellets to his shop yesterday…. 8 tons. Never strapped one of 'em and hauled like this for 20 miles.

    What a DA!

I hope those don't come with screws and other miscellaneous stuff like the 'hardwood' ones I bought several years ago did.

They DO seem to come with a bit more ash than I'm used to…. it's 50F right now and with the stove set on #2/2 it's 80F inside. Might shut it down tonite.

These are softwood... ashier than UJ's for sure. I'm going to buy a ton of UJ's or a Doug Fir pellet to mix with the Wood Fibers for the coldest weather.

I was thru Pittsville yesterday about 5AM. I expected to see you hitchhiking to work but I must have missed you...
